Social Ministry Grant Application

Lutheran Social Service, Inc. is an organization consisting of members of the judicatory of Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod of the ELCA, the Central States Synod of the ELCA, the Kansas District of the LCMS, and the Oklahoma District of LCMS.  

Each year the board disperses the interest from the investments among the four judicatories for “social ministry.” This year we received $11,700. The synod council has again decided to make it available directly to congregations in the form of $500, $1,000, or $1,500 grants for ministry projects or programs that reach out into the community.  

The application is simple! All grant applications are due by May 10, 2024 and will be considered by the Central States Synod Mission Endowment Fund Committee at their meeting on May 16. Grant recipients will be expected to submit a brief report and photos of how the funds were used. If you have any questions, please contact Bishop Candea at scandea@css-elca.org.
