2020 BREATHE RIGGING & ACTIVITIES Volunteer Application
Hello!  We are stoked that you are interested in taking part in Breathe 2020 as member of the Rigging and Activities Volunteer Team! Over the course of three days prior to the festival, the Rigging and Activities Team will work together with festival organizers to rig hundreds of slacklines, midlines, nets, art and other installations.  While first-hand rigging experience and knowledge will be required for a portion of the Team in 2020, we are equally motivated to recruit individuals with less experience who are hungry to learn and ready to work.  Indeed, this endeavor is an opportunity to cram weeks or even years worth of rigging experience into the span of three days; working alongside highly experienced riggers and those who have newly begun learning alike.

The parameters for this volunteer opportunity at Breathe are somewhat unique as the bulk of our work as a team will be completed prior to Festival-start.  Here are the requirements to consider before applying:

Arrive at Stable Studios, check in, setup camp, and be prepared to start working no later than 9am Tuesday, July 7th.  You may arrive at Stable Studios any time after (but NOT BEFORE) 7am Monday, July 6th.

Once you have arrived at Stable Studios, be prepared to work 10+ hour days each day prior to Festival-start on Thursday, July 9th.  This work will encompass the entire spectrum of slackline, net, and other installation rigging….plus a whole lot more.  Once our work as team is nearing completion, each member of the rigging team will be expected to work on other Festival-setup tasks as needed.

Once the Festival begins...Enjoy!  While work activities will be significantly reduced during the Festival, it will be the responsibility of the Rigging Team to maintain a schedule of routine rigging inspections, man the midline area to perform rescue if needed, and administer various rigging-related Festival activities including the Slackline Olympics.

Festival takedown takes place Monday, July 13th and, while not required, Rigging Team members are highly encouraged to camp Sunday night at Stable Studios after the Festival concludes and help take down Monday.
