BVNA Educational Bursary 2024

1. A bursary fund of £500, from BVNA may be awarded each year.

2. The bursaries may be awarded to BVNA MEMBERS who are, at the time of application, engaged in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Nurse Training in the United Kingdom.

3. The bursaries are intended to assist student Veterinary Nurses and Registered Veterinary Nurses in training or furthering their veterinary nursing education.

4. Bursaries are intended to meet course fees only.  This does not include any other costs i.e. travelling, subsistence or accommodation.

5. Bursary recipients will be selected by two representatives from BVNA.

6. Successful applicants will be expected to complete the studies and training, or other purpose, for which the bursary is awarded.  If the successful candidate does not use the bursary for the purpose intended, he/she will repay all monies to BVNA, or such proportion as the panel may determine.  Each holder of a bursary should make a brief report to the panel at the conclusion of the studies/training etc, for which the bursary has been awarded.

7. Applicants must have been a member of the BVNA for at least 3 months prior to the closing date.  You are only permitted to apply for one bursary per year from the ones available.  NOTE: Current and prospective BVNA Council Members are not eligible to apply.

8. The closing date is 30 June 2024

9. Bursaries will be awarded to successful applicants in October of each year.  Recipients will be invited to attend BVNA Congress for promotional purposes and to be presented with their cheque.  Please note that it is not mandatory to attend Congress in order to be awarded a bursary.

10. Applications should be presented in accordance with the following instructions and submitted online prior to the closing date.

11. List previous and current employment, with dates, giving brief details of present employment, including name of organisation or practice and addresses.

12. State briefly your involvement in any activities/studies outside of your immediate employment, which has a bearing on your application and Veterinary Nursing (attach details)

13. Give a brief outline of the purpose for which the bursary is required.  If you are planning to attend a course, you should describe the course (part-time, full time, modular, residential etc) state the venue, the date, the name of the course organiser and itemise course fees.
