Mills Counselors are looking for presenters for our 2nd through 5th grade Career Day, which will be held on Thursday, May 1st.
We are looking for parents/guardians, family members and friends to share enthusiasm and information with our Mountain Lions about your job/career/industry. Our Career Fair will take place from 8:00 to 10:50 Thursday, May 1. Each presenter will be assigned one grade level, and will be stationed in a classroom. The classes will rotate through, visiting each classroom for 20 minutes. We will try our best to place you in the grade level that your student is in, but it is not guaranteed. Each guest may bring their computer to present, or hands-on objects that are utilized in the course of carrying out your job.
Any and all careers, jobs, industries are welcome and appreciated!
Hairdressers, business owners, marketing, design, construction, engineering, computer sciences, medical professions, hotel/restaurant management, you name it, we would love to have YOU!
What to expect: Share job information with visiting students for about 20-minutes 5-6 times. Groups of students will visit you to learn about your occupation. They will have simple career worksheets to ask you a few questions and thank you for sharing your information with them.
Information to be shared with students:
*Your interests and abilities that led you to this job/career
*Educational background and degrees/certifications needed
*What you enjoy about your job, share what it is like day-to-day
*Any hands on or visuals you can bring to share to help your job/career to come alive for the students
*Giveaways are a bonus if you have them
*Question and answer time
