Grace Academy provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in private music lessons during school hours from qualified teachers with a degree. Communication between the parent and private instructor is imperative for cooperative learning. An assignment pad will be used to communicate the assignment for each week, progress, and schedule changes. Please feel free to contact your child’s private instructor at any time for details concerning your child’s progress. Parental attendance at the lessons is welcomed.
Attendance Policy
The student will be expected to be prepared for and to attend his/her weekly lesson for the entire semester. Because of restricted scheduling, no credits or make-up lessons will be given due to the student’s lack of preparation, tardiness, or absence. Credits or make-up lessons will be offered if the instructor is absent. Students in the 1st-5th grade will be escorted by the private instructor to their lesson. Middle and High School students will be responsible to come to their lesson on their own.
Expectations for the Student and Parent
Music students need to practice to make progress. Students that do not show a consistent practice effort may be replaced by a student on the waiting list at the end of the semester. Students must have an instrument on which to practice. The student must bring all materials (music books, instrument, assignment book, etc.) to the lesson. The parent should check the assignment pad each week for information from the instructor. Questions concerning lessons should be directed to the private instructor.
Payment Policy
Students that enroll for private music study will be charged $420.00 for the semester for (15) 30 minute lessons. The private lesson fee will be added to the cost of tuition and will appear on the school bill as part of the tuition in 4 month increments of $105. Students will be expected to fulfill the entire term of the private lesson contract (1 full semester) and will not be refunded for lessons missed if the contract is broken.
