Team Leads and Co-Leads get multiple training sessions to prepare for the league as well as lots of prepared resources available to each team. There's all kinds of leads- some like to be strategic, others are good at motivating the team, but we need all kinds in BPL! If you feel up to the challenge and have a little experience (maybe captaining a content area in previous BPLs) please fill the form out!

The BPL website has two main components:
-A frontend, which displays the scores, allows for signups, and helps with navigating the event
-A backend, which serves the scores calculated during the event, and which gathers data from GGG’s APIs, and uses it to calculate scores for each team.

The backend has two main components. The API server handles all the API calls the frontend makes to it. It uses FastAPI and python to serve these requests. The ‘worker’ handles tracking stash tabs for team leads, updating the ladder, and periodically recalculating the team scores. This is written in python, using the sqlalchemy library. We store the data in a Postgres server. Our application runs on fly.io.

If you’re interested in helping out with BPL’s coding, we prioritize applicants who are familiar with our tech stack. For the backend specifically, we want people who understand complex SQL (for scoring code), or have written Python API servers (for the API server).
