Raisin' Roots Farm Work/Trade CSA Member Application
Please fill this out to apply for a Work/Trade position!

If you would like to become a 2020 CSA Work/Trade member with us, we ask for a weekly 4 hour commitment at the farm, preferably for the full season. In exchange, we offer food production skills training and $25 farm stand credit per shift. This credit can be used 7 days/week through the end of 2020 at our farm stand and Friday/Saturday farmers markets.

This position is ideal for people looking to get more engaged in the process of growing food.
Important: We are looking for worker bees, not social butterflies:)
Skills that you may get training on include harvesting, transplanting, direct seeding, irrigation, weeding, cultivating, handling livestock, wash/pack, post-harvest handling, customer interaction, infrastructure projects.

Please be prepared to lift 50 pounds safely, work in a variety of physical positions for long durations, and work during inclement weather including rain, snow, extreme heat, and extreme cold. Appropriate work wear is expected for each shift including closed toed shoes, hat, long sleeve and pants layers, your own water bottle, sunscreen, and work gloves.

We accept Work/Trades between March to November each season. You will need to reapply each year. Preference will be given to outstanding Work/Trade members who wish to return :)

Please do not come over unannounced since we have farm dogs and private residences on the property.

Until you get to know the dogs, give us a call at (443) 863-0677 and one of our staff will meet you up front to open the gate for you to enter.

For your safety please do not ever enter alone if you are uncomfortable with our farm dogs. In that case just call when you are out front!

When are you available?
I understand that I am applying for this position. Raisin' Roots Farm has the right to further interview and/or choose to to not accept my application. As a working farm, our work is not a good fit for everyone. If we do not accept your application, we absolutely encourage you to volunteer elsewhere! There are plenty of other farms and non-profits in the area who do food justice work and have open door volunteer programs. We are happy to provide you with a list of those organizations. Additionally, Raisin' Roots Farm holds the right to a trial period to see if the position is a good fit and also to terminate a Work/Trade position at any time if we feel that it is not working out. If you can not commit to the full season(through October) for a regular weekly 4 hour shift with us at the farm please wait to apply until you are able to do that! *
