Initial Expression of SME Interest - Eligibility and Matchmaking

Please fill out the form below if you are an SME interested in participating in the Collaborate to
Innovate programme Round 2 - Advanced Therapies.

Target SMEs include advanced therapies biotech companies working in the area of gene or cell therapy products, gene engineering, regenerative medicine and vector manufacturing.
Each of the participating SMEs in the scheme will receive support to help them tap into academic expertise and key capabilities from the university delivery partners up to a value of £150,000 which is paid for by the programme.

Collaborate to Innovate Round 2 is part of London Advanced Therapies, delivered and managed by MedCity and funded by Research England Connecting Capabilities fund and match funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Keep the use of acronyms to a minimum. Only use acronyms where a term is used frequently throughout the application. If you do choose to use an acronym, do not assume that the reader knows what it means, and be sure to define it when first used.

You will not be able to amend your application once it is submitted. Please make sure you have completed the application first in a word document and then transfer it online as the form does not offer a Save option

Only online forms will be accepted.

Successful Stage 1 applicants will be invited to submit a Stage 2 Full Application.

*Important - Please read*

- Interested SMEs with a proposed academic collaboration in mind are advised to submit their Stage 1 application as soon as possible. If they are shortlisted, applicants will then be sent a Stage 2 application which will allow sufficient time for completion.

- SMEs who are interested in the scheme and need to be matched with an academic research group are also advised to submit their Stage 1 application as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for matchmaking and the formation of collaborative teams.

-The scheme emphasises new collaborations. Applications will be scored based on innovation impact and the value added by the proposed academic/industrial collaboration. Both parties of the collaborative team need to demonstrate how their individual expertise complements each other and adds value to overcoming the innovation challenge that will be addressed by the project.
