Chaperone Training / Winter 2022

Thank you for expressing interest in helping take care of our band and color guard students!

Please complete this form to confirm your interest in Chaperoning the 2022 Spring Concert Band Trips or Color Guard/Winter Guard.

This also shares information about the upcoming Chaperone Training for Mason Bands and Color Guard.   If you have not gone through chaperone training this school year and have interest in chaperoning Concert Band Events, Concert Band Trips or Winter Guard Trips/Events, this training is for you.

If you participated in our spring /fall 2021 Chaperone Training, you do not need to repeat that training but do need to attend the trip specific briefings listed below if you are participating in a concert band trip.

Principles to Travel with Mason  Band / Color Guard:
**All Mason Bands Chaperones Must be Vaccinated to travel with the Band
**Currently, all participants must wear a mask when on the bus.
** Covid rules and protocols may be updated as we get closer to travel and we adapt to current conditions and national, state and school guidelines.  Chaperones will need to comply with the rules in place at the time of travel.
**All Chaperones are responsible for the cost of their room/attraction fee.  This chaperone fee will be refunded if the trip is canceled for any reason.
**No one can travel that is sick/unable to fully participate.  This includes a COVID 19 diagnosis, COVID 19 quarantine, Fever over 100.4 and other illnesses.
**Chaperones must participate in annual training, trip briefing and agree to uphold the code of conduct

We will be having separate pre-trip meetings for both the OMEA Cleveland Trip and Wind Symphony Kansas City Trip that will be in addition to the core chaperone training and be trailored to those travel experiences as we are closer to departure and can deploy roster and itinerary.

***Cleveland OMEA Trip Briefing:  January 31st  7pm (location /zoom tbd)

***Wind Symphony Kansas City Briefing: February 13th. (location/zoom tbd)

Please note below if you plan to join the Zoom Training Session on January 11th.  The Chaperone training will last approximately one hour.  If you have been approved and are on the path to become a band aid, the Band Aid training will immediately follow the chaperone training.  If you are a brand new chaperone, this will not apply to you.
