By submitting an application, you indicate financial need. If selected, you will be asked to provide a testimonial on your experience with the Socrates Program.
The Socrates Program provides partial tuition based scholarships ($500-$2,500). The cost of travel and lodging is
not included in the scholarship.
Scholarships are reviewed weekly on a rolling basis and offers generally go out 1-2 weeks after submission. Scholarships must be received on or before Monday, May 22nd, 2023 to be considered. Scholarship funds are limited so early application is advised.

- Jane & Marc Nathanson Scholarship: 4-5 scholarships are available to employees of the State Department and USAGM in hope of increasing participation of public service members. The scholarship covers full tuition, meals, and lodging. State Department employees, please inquire internally with Morgan Cox. USAGM employees, please inquire internally with Oanh Tran.
- Woody & Gayle Hunt Scholarship: Created in partnership with Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program (AILAS) this scholarship aims to support the participation of individuals from boarder plex region including El Paso, Texas; Ciudad Juárez, Mexico; and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Please inquire with Silvia Green if you are interested in learning more about this scholarship. This scholarship covers full tuition, meals, and lodging.
- Nakasone Fund provides scholarship support for Japanese
citizens, persons of Japanese descent, or persons working to further the
advancement of US/Japan relations to participate in Aspen Institute programs
