Application Dancing to Connect at Abrons Arts Center April 22-26 2024

Dancing to Connect, a youth empowerment program from Battery Dance and Queensborough Community College will offer FREE creative dance classes to High School students. Selected students will collaborate with each other under the guidance of dance teaching artists to create their own choreography which they will perform. Open to all high school students, including those with and without previous dance experience. Participants will be selected based on the short application below.

When? Monday to Friday, April 22- April 26, 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch will be provided.

Where? Abrons Arts Center

Students will have the opportunity to perform their choreography at Queensborough Community College in early May, at University Neighborhood High School's spring dance concert at Abrons Arts Center early June and at the Battery Dance Festival in Lower Manhattan in early August.

Through Dancing to Connect, students develop their individual and collective creative voices in dance. During the week-long creative dance intensive, students will collaborate with each other under the guidance of dance teaching artists to create their own choreography which they will perform.
