About VietRISE
VietRISE, founded in 2018, is a community-based organization based in Garden Grove, CA. Our mission is to advance social justice and empower low-income Vietnamese and immigrant communities in Orange County. We build leadership and create systematic change through organizing, narrative change, cultural empowerment, and civic engagement.

Civic engagement is a tool we use as a long term strategy to mobilize, engage, and empower our communities. We use it to uplift issues during election cycles but to primarily build the capacity of community members to be well-informed, develop leadership, build relationships, and utilize multiple tools for positive social change. We use it to build the capacity of the community to lead and advocate for their own needs.
Volunteer Information & Responsibilities
We are looking for volunteers participate in an 8-week door-to-door canvassing program for outreach to Vietnamese residents in Little Saigon, Orange County from July 26-September 14.

We will be surveying Vietnamese community members about what a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable economy looks like in Orange County and how we can get there.

The position will be in-person, based at the VietRISE office (located in Garden Grove). There will be short-distance traveling to Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and Westminster from the office.


All volunteers will be trained in:

  • door-to-door canvassing

  • data entry
