Please complete the following questions to complete your Parent/Guardian's application for enrollment at Faver School.

Students who want individual educational challenges, have not succeeded in a traditional high school setting, or need an alternative location or schedule for their education may take classes through Faver Alternative School. A selection committee chooses Faver students from the applications submitted, and it is a privilege to attend Faver School.
Students must complete a new application each year. Applications do not carryover from year to year.
Both student & parent/guardian must submit a separate, yet
very similar, application for the process to be complete.
Alternative Education students are
required to meet an additional 16 criteria beyond the standard requirements for
high school. These 16 Criteria can be found here. An integral part of the Faver
curriculum will be required service learning projects. This learning experience
is afforded by attending Faver through program guidelines provided by OSDE. Students will also participate in group
counseling with Logan County Youth & Family Services and like entities. Students will also participate in various "Life
Skills" courses on multiple topics. Course credit will be given for active
participation in these activities.
For most coursework, Faver School utilizes Edgenuity, an online curriculum approved by the OSDE. This web-based program will allow students to work from any location
with internet access when not at the school site. This will allow motivated students to have
greater credit earning power and quicker completion of their required credits.
No Faver student will be allowed to miss attending class more than
ten (10) Faver School days per semester, even if work is completed from home on
a missed day. Allowances for up to 5 additional absences can be made if work is
completed from home on those days.
Students must:
- agree to take my education seriously and work to my potential. This includes regular and timely attendance,
as well as staying on task and not sleeping during class.
- agree to treat students, staff, school property, and myself with
respect
- agree to turn off my cell phone and any other electronic devices
(including removing SmartWatches and like devices) upon entering the Faver
School. No headphones / earbuds are allowed
except for instructional purposes in the classroom. Bluetooth devices are not permitted
in the classroom or during a class activity.
Daily Schedule: classes begin promptly at 8 a.m. Breakfast ordered from the HS menu is available at 7:45 a.m. Classes dismiss at 12:15 p.m., and lunch is available. Students are expected to work on their coursework outside of school hours. Edgenuity is available 24/7/365 with an On-Demand live tutor available extended hours. District-issued Chromebooks are available for checkout. Please complete the necessary form on the District's webpage.
All
applicable Guthrie Public Schools policies will be in effect. Academic dishonesty in any form or type will
not be tolerated.
