Foster Global Ambassador Application
In the 2020-21 school year, the Foster School will host exchange students from 21 foreign universities! We need your help welcoming them to the Foster School and making sure their experience is as positive and enriching as possible.

The Foster Global Ambassador (that's you!) will be paired with 3-5 Foster Inbound Exchange Students each quarter to help them navigate the start of the quarter and connect with them throughout their stay through the FGA events.

The goal of this program is to introduce exchange students to the American lifestyle and UW culture that these students might not experience independently. Beyond attending the official FGA events, this role can be as varied as you like, and can include things such as introducing your buddies to your favorite grocery store, inviting them to your family gatherings or friend outings, teaching them how to navigate the line at Orin’s Café, or showing them how to buy their textbooks.

FGA Commitment:
- Reach out to your buddy before the quarter begins to help them answer questions
- Attend the quarterly kick-off and welcome events.
- Attend the majority of the quarterly events (there will be 4-5 per quarter).
- Attend quarterly meetings to touch base with the FGA Co-Chairs about the next quarters events.

What can you gain from being a FGA?
- Expand your global network and connect with students from around the world.
- Gain event planning skills through the one quarterly event you plan and host.
- There will be events to reward you for your commitment to representing the Foster School, such as lunch with the Dean or a Seattle company visit with the inbound exchange students.

What are we looking for?
- Students who are excited to connect with peers and share what Foster, UW and Seattle have to offer.
- Students who are committed to this program and will be at the majority, or all!, of the events each quarter.
- Students who are creative and can contribute ideas.
- We are looking for a year long commitment for the FGA cohort but you will still be considered if you are studying abroad next year.

Thank you for your interest in helping our inbound exchange students get the most out of their time at the Foster School!

Applications are due May 22nd.
*Please note you have to be a current Foster School student to apply.
