Dear Students and Parents:

This form must be signed and submitted to campus prior to any school related electronic communication between District employees, Enrique Collazo, Adam Bendorf, Ryan Rogers, and students for the express purpose of general communication on choir related topics and events throughout the year. Electronic communication is sending or replying through District email and/or text messaging. If at any time you request communication to stop, please send a signed and dated statement to the District employee.

PARENTS--The North Shore Senior HS Choir considers typing your name and date in the accompanying Google Document to represent your digital signature. Your digital signature below acknowledges your receipt of the information provided above. I have read the choir handbook. I understand my child’s responsibilities and will be supportive of his/her efforts as a member of the North Shore Choral Department. I understand that I will eventually have to pay $40 for my choir fee. If I have questions regarding my child’s progress and participation, I will contact the choir director.

My signature verifies that I give my permission to have my contact information printed in the choir directory and any pictures of myself published on the choir website.

ADDENDUM 2020-2021: This is a unique year like none other. We will be forced to adapt to new ideas and adjust to new ways of holding ourselves to the same high standard in which we have grown accustomed. All members of UIL ensembles will be expected to be present during the allotted time of their class period each meeting. It is imperative to the success of the ensemble that each member keeps up with the music, recording sessions, and daily activities. Students will be expected to become familiar with a multitude of electronic programs, including, but not limited to SoundSlice, SoundTrap, Google Classroom, and SeeSaw. Students will be expected to check Google Classroom on a daily basis. It is important that singers have a pair of wired headphones. Students will need to have access to a space where they comfortably sing and move around. As for the parents, please be a source of support, giving the students the space and encouragement needed for them to be successful in their efforts. This is not the “New Normal.” This is only temporary. We will get through this and emerge stronger once this is through.
