2020 Sustainable Trails Conference Request for Presentations

The 2020 Sustainable Trails Conference will be in Bentonville, AR from March 14-21:
Pre-Conference Workshops: March 14-16
Core Conference: March 17-19
Conference Workshops: March 19-21
PTBA is seeking proposals for presentations that share best practices in trail construction, maintenance, assessment, design, project implementation, partnerships, and trail-related policy. Sessions should provide a progressive education opportunities for attendees. We seek proposals that would be ideal for beginners as well as sessions that would further the education of a seasoned trail professional (please indicate level in your proposal).
The conference features 3 presentation formats:
1. Concurrent Session -1.25 hour sessions during the Core Conference (March 17-19) that present a case study or topic and allow time for audience interaction. Concurrent Session speakers who are selected will receive 10% off of their conference registration.
2. Seminar Session - 3 hour session during the Core Conference (March 17-19) that provides opportunity for more in-depth and even potentially hands-on exploration of subject matter. Roundtables and multiple speakers are encouraged. Seminar Session speakers who are selected will receive 10% off of their conference registration.
3. Workshops - 1-day, 1.5-day, 2-day, or 2.5 day hands-on workshops that are offered pre-conference (March 14-16) or post-conference (March 19-21). Past workshops have included Trail Design, Trail Assessment, Mechanized Trailbuilding, Designing/Building Turns, Stonework, Building/Retrofitting for accessibility, etc. Workshop instructors will be paid 70% of the NET profit from the registration costs of their workshop. PTBA will work with each workshop individually to create a cost model and to identify field sites if necessary.
PRESENTER COSTS:
All conference presenters are expected to register for the conference and pay the conference registration fee. There are no complimentary registrations and registration fees will not be waived (discounts indicated above). Presenters are also expected to provide their own transportation to/from Bentonville, AR, lodging, and meals (that are not provided as part of registered events).
