Thank you for being a part of the LRSD Ready for Learning Focus Groups.    As this school year evolves we are constantly monitoring and adjusting to meet the needs of our students, parents and teachers.  The teachers of LRSD are working tirelessly to manage the demands of teaching both in person and virtual learners.  Our teachers have overwhelmingly expressed the need for time to create engaging lessons for both sets of students.  The District would like your input on the possibility of a full virtual day for students on a weekly basis to allow time for teachers to follow up with virtual students, plan lessons and collaborate with peers.  Below are further details about this option.

The District is considering moving one day a week to a full virtual learning day for students. Students would be provided assignments via Schoology for the day, but would not be required to come on campus.  Any student who needs a device to complete their work will be provided one for these days.  

     * Students who need to come to school may do so for all or part of the day.   The time will be spent working
        on assignments via Schoology.  Students will be supervised by district staff, however, it may not be their
        classroom teacher.  

     *Lunch will be provided for any student who is on campus on virtual days.

     *Busses will on virtual days for any student who needs to come to school.  

     *CARE will continue to be available on these days and will start at the normal time.

Please provide your feedback on this potential change by Friday, November 6, 2020.  The District plans to make a decision on this matter on or before November 15, 2020 and communicate accordingly to all stakeholders.
