Historical Argumentation Webinar Series Application - Spring/Winter 2022
In winter/spring 2022, National History Day (NHD) will be offering a special online course (December 13, 2021 to April 25, 2022) for teachers to learn how to develop and support historical arguments. This course will feature Library of Congress resources.

This opportunity is open to teachers or school librarians in grades 6-12. All scholarship recipients will be required to participate in the NHD program (at any level) during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Participating teachers will:
• participate in readings (all materials provided at no cost) and discussion posts;
• engage in a four live webinars with an expert in the field (scheduled at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT in January 2022, February 2022, March, 2022, and April 2022) focusing on historical argumentation and using primary sources in the classroom. Specific dates will be announced in advance); and
• Create and submit four assignments that show integration of the skills being taught.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of 90 professional development hours OR three graduate extension credits from the University of San Diego (at no cost to them).
