Raising Readers in Story County coordinates a FREE summer tutoring program to promote literacy skills and prevent the "summer slide". Students must have completed kindergarten through 3rd grade. Each child will be paired with a trained volunteer tutor. They will meet for personalized reading sessions to help maintain summer literacy skills. These 45 minute sessions are held at convenient, supervised sites. Children in the program receive a lending library book bag and a gift book at the end of the program.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor for this program, please fill out the application below. Volunteer tutors must be at least 14 years old. All volunteers will undergo a background check.
The Harrison and Brittany Barnes Foundation is a proud sponsor of this program.
