Superior Rivers Watershed Association Board Application

The Superior Rivers Watershed Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Ashland, Wisconsin which engages watershed citizens as stewards of our clean water resources.

Mission: to promote and protect clean water resources in Wisconsin’s Lake Superior basin.
Vision: we envision a future where citizens are stewards of their watershed.

Please submit your interest for consideration of the Superior Rivers Watershed Association board below. We request your volunteer history with Superior Rivers, a brief biography, and a statement of interest in our Board. Your statement of interest will be passed along to the Board of Directors for review, at which time we will contact you with a recommended course of action.

Application for nomination will not guarantee nomination. The Board may request further involvement and commitment via volunteer work or committee work prior to board consideration.

BOARD EXPECTATIONS

Prospective board members must be current members and/or volunteers of the Superior Rivers Watershed Association. Board members will be held to the following duties and expectations:

Term: Commitment to a 3 year term, up to 2 consecutive terms.

Meetings and Attendance: Attend 4-6 Board meetings annually. Attend Superior Rivers sponsored events as able. Stay informed on Superior Rivers matters. Prepare for meetings and review minutes and reports.

Committees and Volunteering: First year, must be active on 1 committee. After first year, must chair a committee as requested and able. Serve as a mentor to oncoming Board Members as needed.

Fundraising and Giving: Annual monetary gift that is significant to the individual. Support the long-term stability of the Association by recruiting new members, building community support for our mission, creating opportunities that enhance capabilities of the Association and raising funds.
