Thank you for your interest in this workshop!
Workshop description: How can we tell stories that reflect our communities? How do we include and elevate voices that are misrepresented? Join a community brainstorming session to share your perspective and generate new ideas for using storytelling to raise awareness of narratives that are important to your community. This workshop will be led by Alexandra Blair, Project Manager of the Google Podcasts creator program at PRX, and Eric Dhan, Project Manager of Training at PRX. No experience necessary.
This workshop will be offered on:
- Thursday, March 11th from 12:30 - 2:00pm EST
Space is limited. Once you submit this form, if selected, we will send you instructions on how to join the workshop session. We are giving preference to participants who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and are residents of Brockton, Chelsea, Fall River, Holyoke, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, New Bedford, Springfield, and Worcester.
This workshop is organized by PRX (
prx.org) as part of a research project funded by the Barr Foundation. One of the goals of this project is to support aspiring podcasters and storytellers across Massachusetts. Our focus is on BIPOC residents and BIPOC-led groups interested in the arts, media, and/or elevating the voices and stories of their community. At the end of each workshop, we will also ask for feedback from workshop participants on their workshop experience as well as additional insights they might want to share about audio storytelling in their city.
