A minimum of 51% of the Policy Council shall be from families who qualify for Head Start.  The remaining 49% shall be from community representatives which include other families in our program.  Members are elected for one term October thru September.

Meetings will be held once a month (October-September).  Policy Council is a time commitment and does require 1-2 hours a month of your time.  The first meeting is scheduled for October 8th at 6:00pm virtually over Zoom.  At the first meeting the Council will work together to develop a meeting schedule for the remainder of the year.  

The process for electing Policy Council members is as follows:
1. September 16th-21st: Parents return this interest form in order to be added to the election ballot
2. September 22nd-24th: Policy Council candidates complete a short questionnaire to introduce themselves to families that will be voting on Policy Council representation
3. September 25th-28th: A voting form will be sent to all pre-k families that contains information about the candidates for their school. Families will vote on the representatives from their school.
4. Sept. 29th: Elected representatives will be notified and communication will be sent out notifying each building of who their Policy Council Representatives are.
5. First Policy Council meeting will be held on October 8th at 6:00pm virtually over Zoom.
