Academic Communities Fund Application Form
The Academic Communities project knows not all students are the same commitments and interests. At Greenwich Students' Union, we think there should be a community for each and every one of our students to feel a part of. Academic societies and student reps form a huge part of this as you form a strong link between your studies and the social side of the university experience. The AC fund should make this easier for you to do.

You can apply for this funding if your event/project fits at least one of the criteria below:

- It will be mindful or tailored to groups who may find it harder to get involved in events, such as student parents, placement students, commuter students, international students, mature students, disabled students and students who live/study at other campuses.

- Offers students a way to express their opinions and use their voice to make a change in their student experience

- Projects that link up more than one type of Academic Community (e.g. collaborating with another student group/student rep, University department etc.)

- Where possible, there is some effort demonstrated of your group raising at least 10% of the amount applied for.

Ground Rules:

If you would like to apply, please make sure you do so at least 3 weeks prior to your event/what you need to funding for. Any applications submitted less than 3 weeks prior to the event will not be guaranteed a response

There is £2,100 of funding available for term 2 and you can apply for as many events or initiatives that you have. However, please do remember that this funding needs to be shared fairly between any Society or Rep that applies, so bear that in mind when stating the amount you’d like to apply for.

Your application will be reviewed by the Academic Communities Coordinator who will make the decision on how much funding will be approved or if any further information is required.

By receiving funding for an event, you agree to use the funding explicitly for the reasons stated in your application. You also agree to keep a register (of student ID numbers) of all attendees/participants and give this to GSU after the event, along with any pictures/videos. You will also be expected to ask attendees to fill out the GSU feedback form after the event (www.greenwichsu.co.uk/eventfeedback).
