On March 1st, Taft Middle School will be transitioning our instructional model from our online Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) to an in-person, Hybrid Schedule. In the Hybrid Model, students will attend in person 2-days a week (Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday) with their cohort group and log into their classes virtually on the other days.

As there are still some concerns about returning to in-person instruction, this survey is to help Taft MS prepare for our students returning on March 1st by informing parents/guardians of their educational options.

Starting March 1st, parents/guardians will have three options for instruction:

Option 1 - Hybrid Instruction: Students will attend 2 days a week in person and 2 days a week virtually with their cohort group. Group A is Monday/Thursday and Group B is Tuesday/Friday (Wednesday will continue as independent, at-home learning). In the Hybrid model, students will keep their current schedule and teachers.

Option 2 - CDL (Comprehensive Distance Learning): Student will remain in distance learning and continue to attend all classes online; however, students will be assigned a new teacher from the district along with a new schedule and class times. Student will still receive daily instruction from a teacher, but they will be able to remain at home.

*Edmentum (Online Students) will remain in their current program and may elect to change instructional programs at the end of 3rd quarter, April 12th.

El 1 de marzo, Taft Middle School hará la transición de nuestro modelo de instrucción Aprendizaje Integral a Distancia (CDL) en línea a un horario híbrido en persona. En el modelo híbrido, los estudiantes asistirán en persona 2 días a la semana (lunes y jueves o martes y viernes) con su grupo de cohorte y tendrán clases virtuales los otros días.

Como todavía existen algunas preocupaciones sobre el regreso a la instrucción en persona, esta encuesta es para ayudar a Taft MS a prepararse para que nuestros estudiantes regresen el 1 de marzo al informar a los padres / tutores sobre sus opciones educativas.

A partir del 1 de marzo, los padres / tutores tendrán tres opciones de instrucción:

Opción 1 - Instrucción híbrida: los estudiantes asistirán 2 días a la semana en persona y 2 días a la semana virtualmente con su grupo de cohorte. El grupo A es lunes y jueves y el grupo B es martes y viernes (el miércoles continuará como aprendizaje independiente en casa). En el modelo híbrido, los estudiantes mantendrán su horario y maestros actuales.

Opción 2 - CDL (Aprendizaje Integral a Distancia): el estudiante permanecerá en el aprendizaje a distancia y seguirá asistiendo a todas las clases en línea; sin embargo, a los estudiantes se les asignará un nuevo maestro del distrito junto con un nuevo horario y horarios de clases. El estudiante seguirá recibiendo instrucción diaria de un maestro, pero podrá permanecer en casa.

* Edmentum (estudiantes en línea) permanecerá en su programa actual y puede optar por cambiar los programas de instrucción al final del tercer trimestre, el 12 de abril.
