Black Jack Battlefield Spring 2022 Workday RSVP
Join Grassland Heritage Foundation, Native Lands LLC, Black Jack Battlefield and Nature Park, and Jayhawk Audubon Society in a prairie restoration project at Black Jack Battlefield, a National Historic Landmark just outside of Baldwin City, KS. Moving into our last season of the project, we will be planting hundreds of native plants and grasses and removing invasive and woody species from our prairie sites. This project is a great opportunity to join a wonderful volunteer community and help protect and restore our local ecosystems! No prior experience required!

All of our scheduled spring workdays are listed below. Please fill out the following form in order for us to get an accurate count of how many people plan to attend each event. We will send email reminders before each workday and will contact you if there are any changes in the event or if we need to cancel or reschedule due to weather or other circumstances.

Please make sure that you come prepared for working outdoors. This includes a bringing a water bottle, snacks, bug spray,  sun block, and a hat. Be sure to wear long pants and sturdy, close-toed shoes. We will provide all necessary tools for each event, such as gloves, loppers, pruners, and trowels, but feel free to bring your own if you would prefer.

Black Jack Battlefield is located at 163 E 2000 Rd, Wellsville, KS 66092 (https://goo.gl/maps/8UseyDCLp5d634XJ8).

Please email Kaitlyn at grasslandheritage@gmail.com with any questions that you may have.
