The Bastille Day French Festival Inc (BDFF) values the contribution of its volunteers and recognises the time, skills and enthusiasm they bring to the association. We aim to provide volunteers with the opportunity to work and, where appropriate, provide them with the support, training and information they require to undertake their duties.

1) Volunteers and staff are expected to work together for the benefit of the BDFF.

2) Volunteers will be under the direction of the BDFF and will not represent the BDFF outside of the directions provided.

3) At all times exhibit a positive and friendly approach with the purpose of ensuring the public, guests, staff and volunteers have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

4) Be sensitive to the diversity of staff, artists and fellow volunteers.

5) Do not consume alcohol during your shift(s) and do not report for duty while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

6) Show up on time and dressed appropriately, (if supplied; wear the T-shirts provided over a warm item of clothing or visible under a jacket) for your scheduled duty/event.

7) Contact the the Festival coordinator, assistant coordinator or volunteer team leader immediately if you need to cancel a scheduled volunteer shift due to an unforeseen emergency.

8) Stay through your entire shift.

9) We are here to keep you safe and make things fun. Our organisation does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form. Every volunteer has a responsibility to ensure that sexual harassment does not occur. Anyone found to have sexually harassed another person will be subject to disciplinary action that may include an apology, counselling, transfer of duties or dismissal.

2) Treat volunteers with respect and courtesy.

3) Keep volunteers informed about relevant event changes.

4) Provide volunteers with a safe atmosphere in which to volunteer.

5) Adequately insure volunteers for the duration of each shift they work with the event.

6) Provide volunteers with necessary training opportunities.

7) Listen to and address volunteers’ concerns, problems and issues.
