KTH and COVID-19

KTH is taking measures to change both teaching practices and workplace guidelines, in the wake of the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. THS has confidence in the direction that KTH is taking and both representatives from the THS Management team, as well as members from the PhD Chapter are in continuing contact with them so that we can make sure that the PhD students concerns and questions can be raised.

We want to chart how the decisions made on the KTH central level is being implemented at the local level and how the situation is affecting PhD students at KTH. We also want to make sure that the issues you experience, if any, are lifted to the right instances and can be resolved as quickly as possible.

We, therefore, would like you to answer a few quick questions about your current situation. We encourage you to keep updated by visiting KTH's page that is updated frequently: https://intra.kth.se/campus/sakerhet/kris/corona

You can answer this survey in either Swedish or English, depending on what you're most comfortable with. The answers will be shared with members of the PhD Chapter Board, PhD School Councils, THS Management team as well as with the directors of third-cycle education (FAs), Leif Kari (Vice president of Education) and other KTH employees working with handling the COVID-19 situation.

Which school do you belong to? *
If you are enrolled in one or multiple courses, how has the transformation to digital education worked within the course(s)?  Please specify the course codes and names of all the courses you are enrolled in. If a course is working well, that is also important feedback.
Has your thesis work/research project been affected by the current situation? *
Please elaborate in what way the COVID-19 situation has affected your thesis work/research project. What have you not been able to do and which implications are you foreseeing?
Please describe the impact on the actual time you spend on departmental duties (such as teaching) due to the current situation. *
The PhD Chapter encourages all PhD students to keep a log on how much time you spend on departmental duties (with short descriptions on what the time was spent on). By doing so, it will be easier for you to report the time, and, if needed, make changes to the prognosis. Please also note that according to Högskoleförordningen, a PhD student is allowed to spend a maximum of 20% on departmental duties, talk to your supervisor/director of studies if you feel you might exceed that.
Do you have any other concerns regarding the situation that you like to bring to our attention?
