AI and Misinformation
Artificial intelligence (AI) today has stepped into various fields and one such is information creation. Today,
AI has created a new form of communication media called synthetic media where there is “creation” of new information rather than reporting of information, created partially or fully through AI. It is simply AI generated content in the form of a video, voicemail, text, etc. These types of content have high potential to manipulate the public and can be used to spread misinformation and disinformation. Examples include Deepfakes, faceswaps, etc.
