2020 Elementary Career-A-Palooza Volunteer Form
March and April are College and Career months throughout our SLP elementary schools! At the elementary level we define college as, “any education beyond high school.” As a part of this initiative, we are planning a Career-a-Palooza (formerly Career Fair) to expose all of our students to many careers in and outside of our community. This event involves having a variety of presenters come in to our school to speak (and ideally demonstrate) to the students what their career entails. By starting career exploration at a young age, students can begin to understand the many opportunities they will have for their own future careers. In addition, students will begin to connect the education they are receiving now and how it relates to their future.
We invite you to come demonstrate and speak about your career at one (or more!) of our schools. Participating in the Career-A-Palooza would involve you occupying a station for all students to come through in small groups to learn about your career. Each presenter will have about 10 minutes per group to show and share what they do.
Thank you for your willingness to share your career with our students! Please contact your School Counselor, with any questions or concerns.
*A catered lunch will be provided for you or you can eat lunch with your child in the cafeteria!*
