U of T Stem Cell Club Volunteer Registration 2023-24
The vision of the Stem Cell Club (SCC) is to build Canada's Stem Cell Donor-Database, making it easier for patients in need of a transplant to find the life-saving match they need.

The mission of the SCC is to operate stem cell drives catered to actively engaging University of Toronto faculty, staff, and students to register as donors. Our unique organization aims to educate students on health advocacy, informed consent, quality control, inter-professional collaboration, and leadership in healthcare through attending regular meetings and drive events.

Our club is organized into executives, leaders, and volunteers (all positions are CCR recognized). Executive roles are similar to most other clubs, occupying relatively specific responsibilities. Although executives remain involved in drive operation, volunteers are mostly responsible for management and supervision, including the operation of specific booth tasks involving swabbing, registration, and shipping. Volunteers are also involved in engaging and educating passerbys on registering as stem cell donors. Volunteers make up the core of our club and are essential for success!

Membership to the group is open to all the University of Toronto members (students, staff, faculty and alumni) and non-U of T members.
