This course focuses on the knowledge and skills educators need to ensure they are supporting emergent literacy. Teachers will learn strategies for effective early literacy instruction including oral language development, phonological awareness, concepts of print, and the alphabetic principle. Additionally, teachers will learn to recognize the indicators of dyslexia or other reading disabilities.
