The Information Services (IS) Department provides technology leadership, equipment, and support to City Schools of Decatur. We are stewards of enterprise systems that support staff and student safety, efficiency, and innovation.

The IS Advisory Council provides input on strategic planning, feature and service requests, identifies possible program evaluation measures and staff training needs, and acts as a conduit to provide feedback to the IS Department. It is not a governance or decision-making body. In-depth knowledge about technology isn't required, but interest in technology is helpful. The IS Advisory Council consists of staff, parents, students, and community members.

This group will meet virtually every 1-2 months for 1 to 1.5 hours each. There will probably also be requests for feedback (surveys, reports, questions, etc.) that might go out to participants over email. For the upcoming school year, the cadence of whole-group or small-group discussions might be higher to support our next round of strategic planning.

A poll will go out to interested parties to gauge availability at possible meeting times, and invites shortly thereafter will go out to folks who 1) contribute toward an appropriate cross section of CSD staff, parents, students, and community members, and 2) express a high level of availability for proposed meeting times.
