Registration for The Shaker Century Garden Inaugural Year
On the grounds of The Shaker History Museum, Shaker area families will work together to create The Shaker Century Garden and Harvest Meal celebrating stories covering 400 years of diverse and unique culture and horticulture in Northeast Ohio and Shaker. Participating families will bring to life the story of the many heritages of our area through a myriad of activities. They will not only help to construct four raised beds, nurture heirloom seedlings, and prepare the soil for planting, but they will also tend and harvest the crops. Throughout the summer, family members will record these stories in a hardbound book for all to share. Stories can range from realistic to historical fiction and take various forms along the way--poetry, plays, comics, or wherever their creativity takes them. As a culminating activity, families are invited to make and share a Harvest Meal celebrating our times and cultures as well as a collaborative story, created and performed by willing participants.

As lawful consideration for being permitted by SF and SHS to participate in the Event, I agree to all the terms and conditions set forth in this Release of Liability and Waiver and Assumption of Risk ("Agreement").By signing below I expressly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known, against SF and SHS, and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns (collectively, "Releasees"), for any injury, illness, or property damage, arising out of or attributable to my Child’s participation in the Event, whether arising out of the negligence of the SF and SHS, any Releasees, or any other participants, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I promise not to make or bring any such claim against SF or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge the Company and all other Releasees from liability under such claims. *

Consent: Use of Photo, Video: For both documentation  as well as use in promotional materials and grants, we will take photographs and short video clips of the families engaged in programming. These photographs and/or videos may be used in presentations as well as marketing materials, and on our website and social media. These will be the property of Story Forum and Shaker Historical Society.
