The effects of self efficacy on retention of secondary science teachers.
This questionnaire is being used to inform a study looking at factors that affect the retention of secondary science teachers in the UK. The following are details of what each section of the questionnaire will focus on:

Section 2 is a required section for all participants of research such as this. This section allows us to ensure that you are participating in this research fully aware of your rights concerning the answers you give in this questionnaire and the use of your data.

Section 3 of the questionnaire focuses on information that will enable us to analyse the demographics of all respondents.
Any personal information collected (e.g. your gender, number of years in the teaching profession etc.) is being collected purely for data analysis reasons. All of your answers will be anonymous. You will not be required to provide your name or the name of the school you work in.

Section 4 of this questionnaire is comprised of questions concerning your job satisfaction.

Section 5 of the questionnaire is comprised of questions that focus on what is described as your 'self-efficacy'. These questions will explore the attitude you have about your skills and attributes as a teacher.

Section 6 of the questionnaire is for those participants who, if approached, would be happy to take part in an interview exploring the issues raised by the results of the questionnaire.

None of the questions in sections 3-6 of the questionnaire have been made compulsory, however the more questions you complete the more useful your overall responses are to this study.

The reflective nature of this survey may cause some people to feel anxious about their professional choices/performance etc. If this does occur then you are free to request to have your answers removed from the study - details of how to do this are given in the paragraph below. You can also seek the support from a service dedicated to supporting teachers who are suffering from stress, anxiety or other work related issues - the 'Education Support Partnership'. They can be contacted on the UK-wide number 08000 562 561 or by text on 07909 341229.

If you start completing the questionnaire but then decide to withdraw your participation in this study you can do by simply not completing the questionnaire and not submitting at the end of section 6.
If you have completed the questionnaire and later decide to withdraw your participation you can email your request to douglas.napolitano-cremin.17@ucl.ac.uk and your data will be securely removed from the data set.
