As teachers, we are always on the look out for ideas to better our student's learning experiences. In this journey, it is always nice to get a little help. The pedagogy club is a monthly collaborative space where we share research-backed ideas, hear each others experiences and brainstorm on learning and facilitating. It could mean discussing book excerpts, presenting research papers or sharing our classroom stories and experiences. Each month we will select one broad theme (tune in for this months theme 'Assumptions in teaching and learning') and share some reading material in advance. The idea is to build a thriving and active community of teachers that will help us all.


Everything we decide to do in our classroom is founded on our assumptions about nature of subject, knowledge, learning, etc. Some are guided by experience, some by intuition and sometimes they are unfounded. Most importantly they are tacit.
The idea is to make them more explicit and question them where possible. Maybe we will also uncover some of our own assumptions in the process.
