1.
Check
in begins at 9:00 a.m. In the lobby of the Vernon Senior Center (21 Church St, Vernon, NJ 07462 | rear entrance). The
first 2 teams to check-in will receive a “1 Minute Pause Card” to pass out to
another team during the competition. Once the card is given during the
competition, the receiving team must pause working on their puzzle for 1
minute. They must step away from their
table; this will be timed by Rec Board.
2.
Teams
may choose their table after check-in.
3.
Each
table will have a (gift wrapped) puzzle not to be opened until the
competition begins.
4.
Competition
begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
5.
Onlookers
are not to distract teams and cannot help teams with completion of their
puzzle. We ask that they stay seated
in the outer perimeter of the room.
6.
Participants
may not approach other team tables or distract other teams. The only time a team may approach another is
to give the “1 Minute Pause Card”.
7.
There
will be no official breaks, but teams are allowed to do so as needed.
8.
Food
and beverages are allowed on your puzzle tables at your own risk.
9.
The
first team to successfully complete their puzzle and have it approved by
a Rec Board member will win the competition.
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place
teams. Presentation of prizes and team photos will be done once the 1st
and 2nd place teams are determined.
10. If the time limit expires before any
team has completed their puzzle, we will count remaining “loose” pieces to
determine a winner. Pieces together in groups of 7 count toward completed
puzzle.
This is a friendly competition, so please enjoy the event
in the appropriate manner.
