🌟 Welcome to our awesome form! 😊 Don't stress about filling everything, but consider all aspects important for a successful application. Together we will put a big effort into ensuring a positive journey for everyone. Even if it might not seem much, these answers are important for everyone involved because how our values and philosophies are aligning can impact the experience greatly. The experience is not only yours, we will be travelling through the process together. How the experience impacts you and the reactions or actions you might take will seriously impact our future motivation and involvement. So it will be, for yourself. It is more important to be where you need to be than where you want to be.
Be genuine, don't pretend. Show your skills, interests, and expectations sincerely. The project and you are a perfect match if it fits both sides. If you have secondary motivation other than just to volunteer in a non-formal learning environment please be honest to yourself and discuss your expectations or communicate them to us during the interview, the latest. Many times participants want to be independent, travel, have fun, do an internship or meet new people. All of these are ok as long as they are secondary motivation. Your primary motivation should be to volunteer and embrace an attitude of solidarity.
The chosen volunteer assists with daily tasks, helps with the program, and organizes events based on interests and youth preferences. We expect our candidates to have self-initiative, empathy, patience, flexibility, open-mindedness, environmentalism, creativity and, of course, good communication in English. It's a lot but if you feel like you can do a thing or two for someone else other than yourself it might be enough to be a good fit and have a positive experience. Don't expect a professional in the sense of corporate-style work environment as the work in our NGO is mostly volunteer work and we all have our own priorities as well. It will not be all about yourself or it will be in a balance of give and receive as much as possible. As activists we appreciate your fight for your right attitude but in our work environment we should be all in the same boat (which will actually happen for real). Most of the times trusting the process and going with the flow will be more rewarding than opposing every step of it.
Submit the form ASAP; interviews start soon. We'll contact you via text or email.
