Columbia Parks & Recreation is issuing a call for musicians, bands, dancers, & stage performers to participate in the 46th Annual Heritage Festival and Craft Show on September 21 & 22, 2024!
Held at historic Nifong Park, this event is free to the public, shaded by gorgeous established tree canopy, and ADA accessible. Located adjacent to the Boone County History and Culture Center, this event attracts 10,000 visitors over the course of the weekend and has been a consistent place for families, friends, and community members to get together and enjoy a weekend of fun, food, history, and live entertainment!
Performances take place on three different stages, at the Maplewood Barn Stage, one located on the north lawn of the Maplewood Home, and the Boonslick Stage, under a 30 x 60 tent located under the tree canopy within the park.
We are issuing a call to artists who perform traditional forms of dance, music, storytelling, or other forms of stage performance that predate the 20th century. Past Heritage Festivals have had a wide range of music genres including Bluegrass, Folk, Western, Blues, German, Country, African, and Irish. Festivals have also had traditional Native American, African, Irish, and Chinese dance performances.
We want to expand the festival performances to include the wide variety of cultures and heritages that make up our community. We welcome application submissions from all emerging and established artists! Interaction, education, and engagement with the audience is preferred.
Artists will be asked to provide examples of their performances via website links, recordings, or other forms of media. Submission of this form does not guarantee participation.
