Guilford Backpack Ministry provides a bag with a few nutritious meals for each weekend during the school year as well as snacks for the school week. Guilford Backpack Ministry is facilitated by volunteers based out of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and by the School Counselor or Social Worker. All information is kept confidential.

You will be contacted by your school counselor or social worker to confirm your enrollment.

If your child needs food at home over the weekends and/or weekly snacks, please complete this form. We need only one form per family. We are UNABLE to accommodate for food allergies/food sensitivities. It is your responsibility to check the food for allergy concerns.

Students at McNair Elementary, Northern Elementary, Oak Ridge Elementary, Stokesdale Elementary, and Summerfield Elementary receive food weekly. Counselors discreetly place food bags in the students’ backpacks.

Students at Northern Middle and High, Northwest Middle and High, Greensboro Academy, Revolution Academy, Summerfield Charter, and Operation Xcel will receive their food once a month. The school counselor, social worker, or the Operation Xcel Program Director will contact parents to arrange a time for them to pick up the food. These students receive the same amount of food as our elementary students.
