The examination sessions are conducted by Volunteer Examiners (VEs) working under the direction of the Laurel VEC Group (
https://laurelvec.com) in cooperation with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Registrations received later than one week before the session may not be accepted. If there is at least one registrant who registered before the one week cutoff, then the session will be held and new registrations will be accepted until the Friday before the session.
As of April 19, 2022 the FCC charges a $35 fee for new licenses (upgrades are free). This fee is non-refundable if there is an error in the application. The CKVARC VE team strives to keep informed of FCC rules and requirements, and provide the best service we can. We are proud of our record and rarely make errors that could result in additional FCC fees. However, we are a volunteer organization that charges no fees to take our exams and has no income. We cannot be financially responsible for fees that result from any VEC or VE team errors.
