Visions of Freedom LLC Application (Due February 2, 11:59pm)
Hello!  We are thrilled that you are interested in becoming a part of our Visions of Freedom LLC Community.  We’re a group of Duke students with a passion for politics, philosophy, and economics. We also believe the best conversations don’t always happen in the classroom. They happen over a meal, during trip off-campus or in the middle of a social event. That’s why we strive to create a space for serious and not-so-serious intellectual conversations outside of the classroom and traditional extracurricular settings.  You can read more about us at sites.duke.edu/vofllc.

Housing and Residential Life will place new LLC members in Edens 1A, our home base, excepting extenuating circumstances like being an RA.  In the event that we receive more applications than we have beds, some people will still be welcome members of the LLC but may not be able to live in Edens 1A.  New members will also be expected to sign up for the Fall 2020 house course.  When one receives an acceptance, they become a member immediately, with full access to all LLC speakers, social events, and our Spring out of state trip.

Essay Question:  Respond to ONE of the following two prompts in about a paragraph.  OPTION 1:  Tell us about a time when you were wrong about something about something of political or philosophical importance.  How did you come to realize that you were wrong, and how did you react?  OPTION 2:  The Visions of Freedom LLC's mission statement (as listed in the footer of the website at sites.duke.edu/vofllc) has three main prongs.  Pick one of the prongs and discuss its importance to your life and/or your desire to join the LLC. *
