Straub Outdoors Autumn Academy!
At Straub Outdoors, we're kicking off our Fall/Winter programs a little early, with a special edition called "Autumn Academy" for kids ages 5-11.

During the months of October and November, we're offering the following science enrichment programs:
  • Science Club (merged with after-school care into one program)  |  Mondays-Fridays, Oct 9-Nov 22
  • Eco Explorers Field Trips  |  Friday, Oct 13 & Friday, Nov 10
  • "Monster Mash" Overnight at Camp Greider in West Salem  |  Saturday-Sunday, Oct 21-22
Autumn is a fantastic time to get outside in nature as the seasons change. It's also a great opportunity to explore some fun STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) concepts through hands-on activities and learn about the world around us.

On Friday, November 10, our field trip theme is "Asteroids & Aliens!" We'll visit the Eugene Science Center for a kid-friendly planetarium show about the search for life on other planets with plenty of time to explore the interactive exhibits.
"Monster Mash!" Overnight - Halloween and science go together like, well, like bats and echolocation or spiders and biomimicry! This fun, safe overnight experience at Camp Greider near the Salem 4-H Center is a kid-friendly opportunity for participants to explore their spooky side with monster cookie-making, a Monster Mash dance party, squiggly-slimy science activities, and an "owl prowl" night hike. Halloween costumes are optional and encouraged! Saturday evening dinner and Sunday morning breakfast are included. Drop-off (4:00 pm on Saturday) and pick-up (10:00 am on Sunday) is at the Willamette Heritage Center. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
