We invite *everyone* in the CMU community (and friends!) to join CMQ+ in People's Pride 2k19! Please feel free to forward this link to your friends.

When: Sunday June 9th, meet at 10am
Where: Meet at Freedom Corner. Route in map below.
FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/349393568997306/

Very brief history of People's Pride:
Now in its third year, People's Pride (hosted by SisTers PGH) began as a protest against Pittsburgh Pride (hosted by Delta Foundation). It is meant to be much more inclusive of the trans and non-binary community, especially those in intersection with the black and POC communities. CMQ+ Photograph Privacy Policy
Coming out is a process that some of us are still working through. If you take pictures at the event, please ask each person in the picture for their permission before posting it to social media. We plan to have a photographer from CMU for the event, and we will ask them to follow the same privacy policy. Some pictures taken by the CMU photographer might go on the cmu.edu homepage, and/or CMU social media. Last year, the photographer asked everyone for their permission before the march began, and again before they posted the photos on the website. For reference, this article is from last year: https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2018/june/pride-celebration.html
Some pictures taken by the CMU photographer might go on the cmu.edu homepage, and/or CMU social media. Do you give consent to have your photograph taken during the parade? For those who answer "no", we are considering bringing in stickers or other identifying objects to indicate that you do not give consent to having your photograph taken . *
Comments and/or questions
Thank you so much for RSVPing. We plan to have a lunch event where we make buttons & signs together about a week before Pride- stay tuned. Are there any other events you want to see this summer? Let us know :)
