The Chili Contest is back at the Powderkeg Beer & Chili Festival- and we would love for you to be part of it. People's Choice first prize winner will receive $500 and a trophy!
There is NO charge to participate, and- if you are a brewery- you will automatically be registered as a premium beer vendor ($250 value).
Although the deadline is not until August 19th, we need to have a handle on who is coming. There is a brief Pre-registration form below, in addition to the Town of Exeter form that needs to be completed.
All chili is to be brought “ready-to-eat” and must be prepared in a permitted kitchen. You are expected to bring a minimum of 35 gallons of chili. Many restaurants bring at least 20 gallons each of 2 different kinds. Be creative and don’t forget vegetarian too!
NEXT STEPS:
- Complete this Chili Registration form and return via email to Jennifer Wheeler jennifer@exeterarea.org.
- Complete the Town of Exeter's Temporary Event Vendor Application and return to the Exeter Area Chamber office by August 19, 2023.
- Send a Certificate of Insurance naming the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce (120 Water St, Exeter, NH 03833) AND Exeter Parks and Recreation Department (10 Front St, Exeter, NH 03833) as additionally insured.
OTHER DETAILS:
- A minimum of 35 gallons of chili must be prepared for distribution to the public. We strongly recommend preparing 20 gallons of each kind you bring.
- Chili must be brought “ready-to-eat” and heated close to serving temperature. If you heat from cold chili, experience tells us it takes quite some time to get the Health Department OK to serve.
- Each chili vendor will provide their own ingredients, serving utensils, cleaning materials (specified in health dept. packet), fire extinguisher, thermometers, cooler with ice, first aid kit, gloves, and cooking apparatus. Both cook stoves and propane fueled turkey fryers are approved.
- The Powder Keg Beer & Chili Fest will provide a 10 x 10 space, a 6’ table, spoons, tasting cups, and napkins.
- We request each booth have a sign clearly displaying business name. Don’t forget to bring literature, menus and coupons from your business to share with attendees.
