WPC Show Hunter Champs Nomination 2023
Wellington Pony Club members are invited to nominate for our team(s) for Show Hunter Champs, held 29th September - 1st October 2023 at Foxton. Riders must be financial members of Onslow or Makara Pony Club and must comply with the applicable rally rule (as per NZPCA Rules & Regulations) or applied for dispensation from our DC Clare McMahon. Rider and Mount Eligibility: There are no height restrictions on ponies in each category but striding is based on

Cat A 10ft, Cat B 10.6ft, Cat C 11ft and Hack 12ft. 

Hacks must compete in the hack ring. 

Max jump heights Cat A 60cm, Cat B 70cm, Cat C 80cm and Hack 90cm.

All Rider ages are taken at the first day of competition.  To ride in each Category you must be:  Cat A – under 15yrs   Cat B – under 17yrs   Cat C  under 21yrs  Hacks under 25yrs

If you are unsure about which category will suit you please contact your Head Coach

All mounts must be over 4yrs old. No stallions.  One mount per rider.

Competition Format: Event Consists of 5 SH rounds including one equitation run over three days.  Day 1 – practice rounds, every pair gets 10mins in the ring with their one coach.  Day 2 – 3 rounds,  Day 3 – two rounds and prize giving.

Nomination will be considered on receipt of completed form and payment of $25.00 to Wellington Pony Club by: Sunday 27th August 2023

No late nominations will be accepted and nomination fees are non-refundable. WPC committee will however use their discretion to refund any nominees who are unable to be placed in a WPC team or placed as a draft rider by the MPC Show Hunter Organising Committee. 
Please note that there will be further costs for the team to cover the shortfall on coaching, pre-event coaching,  entries, camping and vehicle fees. WPC Committee are endeavoring to secure funding to help our team with costs.

CODE OF CONDUCT – DECLARATION

These conditions are effective from the time of selection.  If I am selected as a member of the Wellington (WPC) Pony Club Teams, I agree to the following:

● I will place myself and my horse/pony under the control and supervision of the Team Manager and appointed Coach.

● Except in the case of sickness or injury to either horse or rider, when a doctors/vets certificate will be required, I will continue on to the event and will attend training days and meet associated costs, as directed by the Team Manager and Coach (this includes reserves);

● In the event of not abiding by the above statements and any misconduct at the event, I will be disciplined as the Team Manager may see fit, to the extent of disqualification. Any cost incurred by WPC as a result of the misconduct or the disciplinary action will be reimbursed by my parent(s)/guardian(s).

● WPC Uniform: Items may be borrowed from WPC or purchased as desired

● I agree that I will abide by the NZPCA code of conduct. I have read NZPCA rule 27 regarding the doping of
horses, and declare that neither I nor any other person will administer any substance which affects the
performance of my horse/ pony. I also understand that: It is forbidden to administer any anti-inflammatory,
stimulant or sedative to a horse competing in any competition and understand that failure to adhere to these rules may result in the elimination of my team from the event.
