NCAWPA is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to fostering amateur sports competition by recruiting women, and men who support women’s padding, into paddling sports.  NCAWPA promotes health, fitness, and environmental awareness through paddling sports among women, men, survivors of breast cancer, and youth.  
 
Membership:  The organization has no paid staff and is operated and maintained by its members. Community service and volunteerism are encouraged and expected from members to ensure the organization meets its mission.  
 
Membership privileges:
        Participating in all Dragon Boating and Outrigger activities and events of NCAWPA.
        Use of the club exercise equipment (Paddling ERGs)
        Use of the ACBA facilities and participating in ACBA activities and events to which NCAWPA members are invited

Membership Responsibilities:
        Each member is required to volunteer for at least 2 independent events or activities during each season. (Members can meet the community service requirement by volunteering regularly for the variety of work opportunities offered by NCAWPA and the Anacostia Community Boathouse Association (ACBA), of which NCAWPA is a founding member.)
          Abide by all club policies pertaining to the practices, boats, safety, volunteerism, etc.  (Note: your membership may be revoked if you do not abide by the policies of NCAWPA.)

2020 Membership Dues:

Membership Dues support such things as the purchase of boats and equipment, maintenance and repair, insurance, coaching expenses, and umbrella organization dues. Specific items included in the 2020 annual dues paid to NCAWPA are:
         Dues paid to the Anacostia Community Boathouse Association (ACBA)
         Insurance (liability, assets, Directors & Officers coverage)  
         Membership in the East Coast Outrigger Racing Association  
         Membership in the Eastern Region Dragon Boat Federation  

        Adult membership dues (ages 24 and over)
                 Pay in full, one payment (preferred): $275
                 Pay in 2 payments.*  First due at registration ($125), second due May 1st ($150)
         Youth membership dues (Under 24 years old)
                 Pay in full, one payment - $85
         Breast Cancer Survivor / Supporter (GoPink!DC)
                  1st Yr $150
                  2nd Yr $225
                  Yr 3+ $275
          Please note: Special accommodation on a case-by-case basis can be made if the regular dues present a hardship. Please contact your Membership Coordinator to discuss.

*If you choose to make two payments and do not make the second payment on or after May 1, 2020, you will not be allowed to participate in any club activities until the dues are paid in full.
