Typically Tuesdays* - Pride 2020
Hello, dear queer! In lieu of physical distancing measures during the COVID-19 era, many Pride celebrations around the world have been moved online, become more restricted, or are even cancelled --- this includes the August Pride celebrations that are held in Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver Area. At Typically Tuesdays*, we want to take this opportunity to explore the concept of LGBTQ2S+ pride in the COVID-19 era. And we need your support to do it! After all, we are community radio programmers, and we want to engage with our community.

We want to know: How do queer people celebrate pride when "social distancing" measures are in place? How do queer people celebrate themselves and their community at a time when the idea of "community" space and being is shifting in form?  Let us know in the below form how you are navigating Pride (the event) and pride (the concept) during this time! We will close this form on Friday, July 31st at 5pm PST. We will be sharing your response on our August 3rd program that will air on 90.1fm from 3pm to 4pm. The episode will also stream live on cjsf.ca and will be archived onto the website the following day.

A note about whose responses we'll read:

Though Typically Tuesdays broadcasts in what is colonially known as "Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada" and its other surrounding areas in the Greater Vancouver area we encourage queer folks not living here to contribute if they are interested! Tell us how you celebrated/will celebrate Pride and pride. We have offered a space for you to share with us from where you're writing (though you do not have to fill it out!).

We know that for many queer folks, safety and privacy are priority. If you wish to participate but are concerned about safety, you are welcome to use a pseudonym. You are also welcomed to share as much or as little as you want about your experience in response to the other prompts.

This is a piece of engagement that we want to create with other LGBTQ2S+ people. We ask that if you identify as cisgender and heterosexual (and therefore not LGBTQ2S+), you support Typically Tuesdays by sharing our program* and this Google form with your LGBTQ2S+ loved ones.

-------

By responding to this Google form, you agree to have your response broadcasted on the radio and shared on the internet. If you have any questions, please contact Leslie at lhwang@sfu.ca. You can check out our programming on cjsf.ca .

Thank you for your continued support!

* Typically Tuesdays is a campus-community radio program produced and broadcasted on unceded, occupied territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Kwikwetlem First Nations (colonially known as "Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada"). It is hosted by Jade, Leslie, and their friends who dissect popular culture and share music from musicians who don't often get to be in the limelight of mainstream, Canadian commercial radio. At Typically Tuesdays, we strive to use a "quasi-cerebral" approach and tongue-in-cheek humour to make accessible critical thoughts and theories about the mundane.
