Harmony Theater Board Expansion: ACTOR REPRESENTATIVE

The Harmony Theater Board of Directors has voted to create a board position that will be open to
active Harmony Theater actors.

Interested applicants should be willing and able to:
1) Attend monthly board meetings, approximately 2 hours, beginning at 7 pm, the second
Tuesday of each month. At present the board is virtually meeting on our Google platform
(which will be thoroughly explained to you). Once we return to in-person meetings at the
North Penn YMCA in Lansdale, you will need transportation.
2) Be prepared to review board materials that are shared with you each month prior to and after
each meeting (approximately 30-60 minutes per month).
Of course, any prospective Actor Representative board member can choose to volunteer to be on
committees as well such as Community Relations Committee, Fundraising Committee, etc.
The commitment length of this Actor Representative term will be one half year, either September -
December, or January - June. Depending on the number of interested applicants, we will make
every effort to assign each qualified candidate a half year.
The Actor Representative will be paired up with a current board member who would help guide them
through any questions they might have regarding board procedures, reviewing of documents, and
providing them with any guidance you might need to be successful.
The Actor Representative will be expected to vote on matters (not related to private actor issues)
with the board members during meetings, and participate in discussions leading up to those votes.
The Actor Representative perspective as a member of our community of actors is valuable to the
rest of the board membership.
The major responsibilities of the Actor Representative will be to:
1. Maintain confidentiality of all matters discussed by the board prior to those matters being
approved and shared with the Harmony community at large,
2. Report on the rehearsals and performances
3. Report on the actors’ ideas, needs, satisfaction, and concerns
