Accommodations: Tents (2 scouts per tent). Scouts who desire to solo tent should bring their own tent (with ground cloth and stakes).

Hiking Plan:
We will be attempting to earn the Historic Trails award for completing the Ben Franklin Historical Trail starting with a tour of the National Constitution Center, moving on to Ben Franklin's Home, the Betsy Ross House, the Liberty Bell, a Tour of Independence Hall, and additional historic sites nearby. The historical trail is 5 miles long and requires answering 42 questions related to historic buildings and markers near Independence Mall.
Scouts will complete several hiking related rank requirements and this trip can be used towards meeting Citizenship in the Nation requirement 7 (often a summer camp prerequisite).
Scouts will complete the hike in Patrols accompanied by adult leaders.
Scout Gear:
Scouts should pack all gear in backpacks or duffle bags for Fort Washington State Park. For Saturday, Scouts should bring a daypack with a water bottle, a map, and the trail questions to answer. No pocket knives, lighters, matches, etc due to national park limitations.
