Many animals including mammals, reptiles, insects and birds live in the forest. Tropical rainforests of the world contain the highest number of animal and plant species in the world. They are also called the Lungs of the planet. Many products like wood, timber , spices, gums, resins, dyes, honey, bamboo, lac and rubber are obtained from the forests. Leaves of trees like Tendu and Sal have also special use and , hence, provide livelihood to native people. However, people used to cut trees of the forest for timber, fuel and furniture.
